Biography:
Selected by the Class of 2006 to present their Commencement Address, Dr. Kirk Ryan was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, following Hurricane Katrina. After receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996 from Colorado State University, Dr. Ryan worked in general small animal practice for two years (in Alaska and southern Colorado). He was an instructor at LSU from 2001-2002, after completing a residency and an internship in Small Animal Medicine (1998-2001). Dr. Ryan attained board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2002 and worked as a specialist in private practice in Mandeville, LA. He accepted a full time clinical faculty position at LSU in 2006.
