Biography:
Dr. Cherie Pucheu-Haston received her DVM from Louisiana State University in 1992, and completed an internship at LSU in 1993. She received her residency training in veterinary dermatology at North Carolina State University in 1993-1995, and achieved board certification in Veterinary Dermatology in 1995. She worked as a specialist in private practice for seven years, then returned to NCSU in 2002 to pursue advanced graduate training. She received her PhD in Immunology from NCSU in 2006. Dr. Pucheu-Haston returned to LSU in 2011. She served as the American co-chair of the International Committee on Allergic Diseases in Animals from 2015-2020.
Research Interests:
Cutaneous and respiratory immunology, especially hypersensitivity;
Feline and canine immunology;
Equine immunology;
Proteolytic allergens and the development of hypersensitivity;
Development of improved diagnostic techniques for the identification of specific food and environmental allergens;
Antifungal immunology
